About the School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (MEM)
The School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (MEM) is a newly established school at EIT, built with a clear, focused vision: to become a globally recognized center of excellence in Robotics and Smart Manufacturing. Our mission is to cultivate creative, internationally-minded leaders who will serve the nation and society through groundbreaking research and innovation. We are a young, energetic school with a deep-niche strategy. We have identified Robotics and Smart Manufacturing as our core strategic clusters, building on our existing strengths in digital twins, computational modeling, mechanics, and materials. Our faculty and researchers work in a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment, addressing the grand challenges of modern engineering—from the fundamental physics of materials and fluids to the intelligent automation of manufacturing processes and the development of autonomous robotic systems.
Key Research Areas:
Robotics: Mechanism design, locomotion and manipulation, perception and autonomous decision-making, human-robot collaboration, and robotic manufacturing systems.
Smart Manufacturing: Cyber-physical systems, digital twins and industrial simulation, in-situ sensing and process control, advanced materials processing, and industrial AI.

Responsibilities
Successful applicants are expected to:
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses (in English) within our strategic focus areas;
Build and sustain a vigorous, externally funded research program with national and international impact;
Lead or participate in interdisciplinary teams for collaborative research;
Contribute to the academic community and society through service and knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Materials Science, Applied Mechanics, or a closely related field;
Demonstrated excellence in research, with a strong record of high-quality publications and research impact;
Excellent communication skills in English (our primary working language);
Prior experience in teaching and mentoring is preferred;
Candidates with a proven track record of collaboration and interdisciplinary research are especially encouraged.
